Francis & Mona
~ We are all just walking each other home ~ Ram Dass ~
Francis and Mona see the yoga practice as a reflection of life, where we meet our preferences, resistances and fears, but where we also experience space, freedom and interconnectedness; that way we can re-find our original sense of unity, our true nature.
It was Petros Haffenrichter who in a beautiful yoga workshop kindled the Jivamukti fire! Then Francis and Mona went to New York together to attend the Jivamukti Yoga Teacher Training under the watchful eye of their beloved teachers Sharon Gannon and David Life. Supported by their mentors Jules Febre and Ruth Lauer-Manenti and joined by a wonderful group of fellow Jiva’s from all over the world, Francis and Mona had a month long intense experience of the universal yoga teachings; an inexhaustible source of inspiration for their own yoga practice, for teaching, for life.
In the classes that Francis and Mona teach, their faith in the power of yoga is tangible. They are grateful to be part of the ancient yoga lineage. They hope for their students to come home to yoga and find inspiration, energy, understanding and trust, in themselves and in the world in which we live together.
Francis has worked as social worker with families for many years. He has a background in Martial Arts and Tai Chi, from which the switch to yoga went smoothly. He attended an Ashtanga Yoga Intensive Training, later to become one of the leading teachers of this course.
Mona was a modern and jazz dance teacher for over twenty years. From her passion for dance she inspired many amateur and professional dancers, in studios as well as on stage. Later she made the switch to her current job as student mentor at Design Academy Eindhoven.
Francis and Mona are together since 1982. They live in Veldhoven, in the south of the Netherlands. In addition to their passion for yoga, they also share their love of forests, mountains and sea, for beautiful evenings at the table with family, friends and vegan food, for dance and music, for horses in freedom and walks with the dog!
