The Jivamukti Yoga Retreat
with Petros Haffenrichter and Martyna Febre
Triopetra, Crete
27.06. – 04.07.2026
27.06. – 04.07.2026
Join world renowned Jivamukti teachers Petros and Martyna for a week of study, practice, and meaningful continuation.
In the vast landscape of southern Crete, this Continuing Education immersion offers the space to step out of routine and return to the truly important themes of life. It is a week dedicated to deepening your practice, refining your teaching skills, and engaging with carefully selected content of the yoga tradition within the Jivamukti method.
This retreat is offered as an official Jivamukti Continuing Education program and is open to Jivamukti teachers as well as students and teachers of any other path or approach who feel called to continue their studies in a structured and immersive setting.
The Jivamukti Continuing Education program supports teachers in developing specific areas of practice and philosophy. Each Continuing Education module is organized within one of five core categories of the method, all grounded in Ahimsa and the four additional tenets that define the path.
Asana
Refining intelligent sequencing, alignment principles, assists, the skillful use of props, and partner work. Martyna will guide the deepening of āsana experience, exploring how to build and plan a vinyasa class with clarity, structure, and purpose.
Shastra
Engaging with yoga philosophy and Sanskrit in a way that brings classical teachings into lived experience. Study becomes reflection and integration rather than abstraction.
Nada
Exploring chanting, harmonium, the role of music in class, and the vibrational dimension of practice. Petros will share elements of bhakti and nādam, allowing sound and devotion to become experiential pathways rather than concepts.
Pranayama
Dedicated exploration of breath-based practices and subtle energetics. Petros will share pranayama and kriya practices, supporting a deeper understanding of the relationship between breath, awareness, and transformation.
Anatomy
Developing functional anatomical understanding in relation to asana and breath. This category strengthens observation skills and supports safe, intelligent teaching for diverse bodies.
Beyond technique, this week also holds space for the refinement of teaching itself. Together we will explore how to find and embody your authentic voice as a teacher, how to communicate with clarity and presence, and how to transmit practice rather than perform it. Each day will include structured morning and afternoon sessions combining embodied practice and lecture. The language of the training will be English.
Participation qualifies as an official Jivamukti Continuing Education module.
This is a week for those who wish to look more closely, practice more honestly, and teach with greater depth and integrity.

“Triopetra”, the “three stones”, the striking rock formation that gives this magical place on the south coast of Crete its name, has become a symbol for many yoga practitioners who find their way back here again and again. It is easy to understand why. In connection with the experience of the wild, mystical landscape, surrounded by the deep blue Libyan Sea and its untouched, secluded beaches, daily yoga practice becomes a doorway to discovering the inner Self.
This region has long seemed to attract people with its natural power, those who seek harmony with it away from social currents and passing trends.
In this setting, a retreat offers everything one could wish for to restore body and soul:
the joy of practicing yoga together, time for oneself and for reflection, space to experience one’s own sensuality and spirituality, or simply to enjoy well being and deep relaxation.
The area invites long hikes and extended walks along the beach, and of course it is equally perfect for slow, unhurried afternoons by the sea.
Nestled into the coastline, Kretashala is located directly by the sea. This lovingly run, family owned guesthouse offers simple, well kept rooms with balconies and views of the water.
Pavlos and his family will take care of us with excellent vegetarian cuisine, mostly prepared from their own locally grown produce.
The 80 square meter yoga shala, filled with natural light, and the yoga terrace both offer a direct view of the sea and the sunset.
Yogi, musician, dreamer, father, friend — above all a human being and a attentive observer of all interconnected principles that may appear separate on the surface, gifted with the ability to share them in a playful and creative way.
He teaches yoga asana, pranayama, meditation techniques, and Bhakti Yoga.
Petros is regularly invited to yoga festivals and is known as a guest teacher in numerous schools across different traditions and countries. He has trained hundreds of yoga teachers worldwide and has been organizing yoga retreats for over 15 years.
Martyna lives and teaches in Berlin and offers workshops and retreats around the world.
Her greatest inspiration is the tireless animal rights and environmental activism of her teachers Sharon and David. It is deeply important to her to convey loving and compassionate behavior toward all living beings, and non violence in thought, word, and action, as the highest priority of yoga practice. Martyna is closely connected to the Jivamukti community and teaches in various Jivamukti schools and at teacher trainings.
