Heart of Yoga Retreat with Mark Whitwell

Traveldate: May 6th – 13th, 2023

Triopetra, Crete

with Mark Whitwell & Friends

The ancient wisdom of Yoga teaches that Life is already given to you, you are completely loved, you are here now. It teaches that we are not separate—cannot be separate—from Nature, which sustains us in a vast interdependence with everything.

The universe comes perfectly harmonised, and is awesome in its integration and infinite existence. Our felt sense of union with the All in All is our natural state, and has been described as the state of Yoga. When you practice acknowledging this prior connection to the fullness of creation, you are doing your Yoga. Yoga is your direct participation in nurturing source.

We share the Yoga we received from our teachers, the healing power of intimate connection recaptured for our era. As each unique person practices their Yoga in the way that is right for them, they are practicing feeling this interconnection, and thus transforming human consciousness and the societies we have created on the basis of separation.

Join Mark Whitwell & friends for this one week gathering in the beautiful Triopetra, Crete. Together we will go deeper in our asana, pranayama, stillness and receptivity. The mood will be spontaneous and relaxed, with a mixture of satsang, discussion and practice. Supporting teachers include Domagoj Orlic, Adisa Hajra, Rosalind Atkinson and Andrew Raba. This retreat is intended for those who have studied with Mark or one of his students before and who are already are familiar with the breath principles Mark shares from Krishnamacharya, the ‘grandfather of modern yoga’.

Schedule will be approximately:

Arrival day: dinner at 7 pm and first session from 8:30 pm

Before breakfast: shala available for personal practice

Morning session: 9 – 12.30

Lunch at 1pm

Afternoon session: 3-6 pm

Dinner at 6.30pm

After dinner gathering: on some nights, spontaneously according to group mood.

All about the Retreat

THE PLACE:

Nowadays, there are still a few places on earth that insistently deny to follow the stream of the modern civilisation and remain oases for those who seek for something different.
Triopetra is one of those places where time seems to have stopped!

You get to experience the archaic landscape, pure nature, the almost everpresent sun, etesian winds, the chirping of the cicadas and the soft, swooshing sound of the ocean.

This place of refuge is located on the south coast of Crete. The best Season lies between April and October where the highest Temperatures are reached between June and September.

The beach is just a few steps away from the Kretashala “Pavlos’ Place” and the guests can enjoy miles of unspoiled and deserted beaches, with turquoise, crystal-clear water in which you can swim and snorkel.
One is surrounded by Nature in its purest form that invites you to explore the healing powers of it.

The area around Triopetra is free from bars or noisy night life, which means that tranquility and quietness are guaranteed!

THE ACCOMMODATION:

Pavlos Place is located at the eastern Triopetra Beach. It is a modest Guesthouse with a family atmosphere and very comfortable rooms with its own bathroom, shower, mosquito nets, small fridge, air conditioning and screen doors.

All the rooms have a balcony with a view over the Libyan sea.
